Initial velocity =60km/h
So we convert it into m/s
60 will be multiplied by 5/18 or 1000/3600
So, Initial velocity will come = 16.66 m/s.
Retardation is given =2m/s2
Final velocity is 0 because it is given that train is going to rest.
U = 16.66 m/s
V = 0 m/s
A = 2m/s2
V = u + at
0 = 16.66 + 2t
- 2t = 16.66
T = 16.66/2
T = 8.33 seconds
So, time taken by train to come at rest is 8.33 seconds.
