A train is running at a speed of 64 km/hr passes an electric pole in 16 seconds. How much in

in 16 sec the train covered the distance

64000×16/3600 m

=640×4/9 m

=2560/9 m

here 64 km=64000 m and 1 hour =3600 sec

to cross the platform 256 m long the train covered the distance =(256+2560/9) m

=256(1+10/9) m=256×19/9 m

time take by the train =3600×256×19/9×64000 sec

=36×256×19/9×640 sec

=16×19/10 sec

=304/10sec

=30.4sec
