speed = 60km/h

converting it into m/s

1 hour = 60 min
1 hour = 60×60 sec
and
1 km= 1000m
= 60×1000/60×60

=60×5/18

=300/18

=16.66 m/s

hope it helps..

To convert the magnitude from km/hr to m/s there is simple formula i.e 5/18*magnitude of km/hr.

This formula 's derivation-

To convert a value from km/hr to m/s

1km =1000m 1 hr=60mins*60secs 1hr=3600secs.

Now km/hr=1000m/3600s

1km/hr=10 m/36s
1km/hr=5m/18s.

Now,coming to your question
=5 /18*60
=5*10/3
=16.66 or 16.67 m/s.

Hope this would clear your concept.
