A train is travelling at 70km/hr starts from a station at 1p.m. At 2p.m another train travelling at 66km/hr also starts from the same station and is going the same direction. how far apart will the two train be at 3:30pm

Since the second train has a 1 hour delay, the following equation takes it into account:

Let t be time passed starting at 1p.m. for the first train

Distance between two trains (d) = modulus(70*t-66*(t-1))

At 3.30pm (i.e. t=2.5 hr),  d=70*2.5-66*(2.5-1)=76km (answer)
