Initial velocity, u = 60 km/h

= 60×1000/3600 m/s¹

= 60000/3600 m/s¹

= 600/36 m/s¹

= 16.67 m/s

Final velocity, v = 0 m/s

Acceleration, a = - 0.5 m/s²

Distance travelled =?

Using, = v² = v² - u²/2a

S = v² - u²/ 2a

= 0² - 16.67²/2(-05)

= 227.889 m/s².

Therefore, Train will go 277.889 m before it brought to rest.
