A train is travelling at a speed of 90Km/hr. Brakes are applied so as to produce an
uniform acceleration of 10m/s2. Find how far the train will go before it is brought to rest.

Pls help!!
Also,Pls don't copy from Google bcoz this is 10 m/S2 not 0.5!!

Answer:

Explanation:

Given,

Initial velocity of the train, u = 90 km/h = 90 × 5/18 = 25 m/s

Acceleration by train, a = - 10 m/s² (As breakes applied)

Final velocity of the train, v = 0 (As it stops)

To Find,

Distance travelled by train, s = ?

Formula to be used,

Third equation of motion,

v² - u² = 2as

Solution,

Putting all the values, we get

v² - u² = 2as

⇒ (0)² - (25)² = 2 × (- 10) × s

⇒ 625 = - 20s

⇒ 625/20 = s

s = 31.25 m

Hence, the distance travelled by train is 31.25 m.
