A train is travelling at an average speed of 150 km/h. (a) How far will it travel in 2.4 hours? Show your working. (b) How long will it take to travel between 2 stations 52.5 km apart? Show your working.

Explanation:

see per 10 min 25 km

so for 1 hour 150 km

so for 2 hours { 150+150}=300

so now u see for 10 min 25 Km then 40 min {25*4}=100

so 300+100=400

(a) speed= distance/time

therefore,

distance=time*speed

or, 2.4*150

= 360 km

(b) If speed=distance/time

then,

time=distance/speed

or, (52.5 *10/150) h

or, (525/150) h

or, 7/2 h

or, 3 1/2 h

= 3.5 h
