A train is travelling at speed 90 km per hour . Breaks are applied so as to produce uniform acceleration of -0.5 metre per second ^2. Find how far train will go before it is brought to rest

  1. v equals 0 because of rest.
  2. u equals 90*5/18=25m/s
  3. v^2=u^2+2as
  4. 0=25^2*-0.5*2*s
  5. 0=625-1s
  6. -625=-s
  7. thus s=625 m
