Answer:

Let train A be travelling at 40 kmph and train B at 50 kmph

So train A started at 9 am and train B started at 10 am (given in the question),

By the time train B started, train A already reached a distance of 40 km, lets make a flow chart…..

Train- Time -Travel time- Distance travelled

Train A - 10 am - 1 hr - 40 km

Train B - 10 am - 0 hr- 0 km

Train A - 11 am - 2 hrs - 80 km

Train B - 11 am - 1 hr - 50 km

Train A - 12 pm - 3 hrs - 120 km

Train B - 12 pm - 2 hrs - 100 km

Train A - 1 pm - 4 hrs - 160 km

Train B - 1 pm - 3 hrs - 150 km

Train A - 2 pm - 5 hrs - 200 km

Train B - 2 pm - 4 hrs - 200 km

So at 2 pm, both the trains meet after travelling 200 km….

Step-by-step explanation:

Assuming the train did not stop anywhere in between.

Time taken by the train= 22:30hrs - 9:40hr

= 22 1/2hrs -9 2/3 hr

= (45/2 -29/3)hr

= (135-58)/6 hr

= 77/6 hr

Now, D= t

=62km/hr × 77/6 hr

= 4774km/6

= 795.66km
