Answer:-

Given:

  • A train moves with a speed 30 km/hr in 15 min.

  • It moves with a speed of 40 km/hr in other 15 min.

  • And, it moves again with a speed of 60 km/h in 30 min.

We know that,

Distance = Speed * Time

• Distance covered when speed of the train was 30 km/h = 30 km/hr * 15 min

1 min = 1/60 hrs

So,

→ Distance covered for the first interval = 30 * 15 * 1/60

Distance covered for the first interval = 7.5 km

Similarly,

→ Distance covered for the second interval = 40 * 15 * 1/60

Distance covered for the second interval = 10 km

→ Distance covered for the third interval = 60 * 30 * 1/60

Distance covered for the third interval = 30 km

We know,

Average speed = Total Distance travelled/total Time taken

• Total Distance travelled = 7.5 + 10 + 30 = 47.5 km

• Total Time taken = 15 + 15 + 30 = 60 min = 1 hr.

→ Average speed of the train = 47.5 / 1

→ Average speed of the train = 47.5 km/hr

Answer:

Given:

A train moves with a speed 30 km/hr in 15 min.

It moves with a speed of 40 km/hr in other 15 min.

And, it moves again with a speed of 60 km/h in 30 min.

We know that,

Distance = Speed * Time

• Distance covered when speed of the train was 30 km/h = 30 km/hr * 15 min

1 min = 1/60 hrs

So,

→ Distance covered for the first interval = 30 * 15 * 1/60

→ Distance covered for the first interval = 7.5 km

Similarly,

→ Distance covered for the second interval = 40 * 15 * 1/60

→ Distance covered for the second interval = 10 km

→ Distance covered for the third interval = 60 * 30 * 1/60

→ Distance covered for the third interval = 30 km

We know,

Average speed = Total Distance travelled/total Time taken

• Total Distance travelled = 7.5 + 10 + 30 = 47.5 km

• Total Time taken = 15 + 15 + 30 = 60 min = 1 hr.

→ Average speed of the train = 47.5 / 1

→ Average speed of the train = 47.5 km/hr
