The effective speed between the trains: 49 + 63 = 112 mph

Assume the passenger is stationary and the 2nd train is passing him at 112 mph.

1 mile= 5280 foot.

1 hour= 3600 secs.

(112*5280/3600)*4.5=739.5 ft.
