Step-by-step explanation:

let the time be x hr

speed =distance/time

s=90/2

s=45km /hr 1.

s=540/x. 2.

by 1. and 2.

540/x=45

540=45x

x=540/45

x=108/9

x=12

time is 12 hr

Question:

a train moving at a constant speed covers a distance of 90km. in 2 hours. find the time taken by the train to cover a distance of 540km at the same speed ?

solution:

case - 1 : when distanced covered,d = 90 km

t = 2 hours

speed ,v = ?

speed = distance / time

= 90/2 = 45 km/ hr

case -2 when distanced covered,d = 540 km

speed ,v = 45 km / hr [ same as in case -1 ]

time ,t = ?

time = distance /speed

= 540/45

= 12 hour

therefore ;

the time taken by the train to cover 540 km

at same speed is 12 hours .
