length of 1st train = 500m
time = 25s
so ,length of train travelled in a sec =500/25=20m/s
length of 2nd train = 20*49 = 980 m

Answer:

480 m

Step-by-step explanation:

Length of train = 500 m

It crosses an electric pole in 25 sec

Speed = \frac{Distance}{Time}

Speed = \frac{500}{25}

Speed = 20m/s

Let the length of the platform be x

Length of train = 500 m

Total length = 500+x

Time = 49 sec

Speed = \frac{Distance}{Time}

20=\frac{500+x}{49}

20 \times 49=500+x

980-500=x

480=x

Hence the length of the platform is 480 m
