Solution :-

As given :-

The length of train = 500 m

Velocity of train = 15 m/s ( towards East)

Velocity of bird = 10 m/s (towards West)

In our first step we will find out the relative velocity.

Remember :- We will take the velocity of bird as positive if frame of reference is bird and the velocity of train as negative. And vise versa.

So relative Velocity

= 10 - (-15)

= 10 + 15

= 25 m/s

Now as length of the train

= 500

Then Time

= Distance ÷ Relative velocity

= 500 ÷ 25

= 20 sec

Distance = 500 m

Speed = 15 + 10 = 25 m/sec

Time = Distance/Speed

= 500/25

= 20 sec
