A train of length 50m is moving with a constant speed of 10m/s. Calculate the time taken by the train to cross an electric pole and a bridge of length 250m.

GIVEN:

Length of the train = s = 50m.

Speed of the train = v = 10m/s.

Therefore,

time taken to cross the electric pole:

 \bold{t =  \frac{s}{v}  =  \frac{50}{10}} \\  \bold{ = 5s}

Distance travelled while crossing the bridge

→length of train + lenght of the bridge.

=> 50 + 250 = 300m.

Time taken to cross the bridge

 \bold{=> \frac{300m}{10m/ s} } \\  \bold{ = 30 \: seconds.}
