A train of length 60m is moving with a constant speed 20m/s.Calculate the time taken by the train to cross an electric pole and a bridge of length 300m.

Solution :

length of train = 60 m

length of bridge = 300

s = 20m/s

T = D / s

D = 300 + 60 = 360

T = 360 / 20

T = 18 seconds

Length of train = 60 m
Speed = 20m/s

While crossing the electric pole,
Distance covered = Length of the train
=60 m
:. Time taken = 60/20 = 3seconds

Length of bridge =300m
While crossing the bridge ,
Distance covered = length of train + length of bridge
= 60+300
=360 m
Time taken = 360/20 = 18seconds
