Let l and s be the length of train and speed of train respectively.

now,

Length of platform =300m

Time taken by the train to cross the signal =Speed of trainlength of train

⇒sl=12

⇒l=12s(1)

Now,

Time taken by the train to cross the platform =speed of trainlength of train+length of platform

⇒30=sl+300

⇒30s=12s+300(From (1))

⇒30s−12s=300

⇒s=18300=350m/s=350×518=60km/hr

Hence the speed of the train is 60km/hr.
