A train passes a station platform in 36 seconds and a man standing on the platform in 20 seconds. If the speed of the train is 54 km/hr, what is the length of the platform?

Since the train crosses the man, distance covered is the length of the train =l(say) Speed =54*5/18 m/s=15 time =20 sec l=t*s ----->l=300 m While crossing platform,the distance covered is length of train +that of platform=(l+p) time =36 sec,s=15m/s....(l+p)=36*15....300+p=540.....p=240m(ans)
