Answer:

1min =60 sec

4min=4×60=240sec

speed=54km/h

=54×5/18

=15m/sec

distance=speed×time

=240×15

=3600m

in km=3600/1000=3.6km

Answer:

3.6km is the required length of the train.

Explanation:

Given that, a train passes through a tunnel 4minutes with a speed of 54 km/h.

Time taken by the train = 4minute = \frac{4}{60} = \frac{1}{15}h

Speed of the train  = 54km/h

As we know that, a scalar quantity, speed is defined as the size of the change in an object's location over time or the size of the change in an object's position per unit of time.

Let x be the distance covered by the train.

Formula of speed = \frac{distance\ travel }{Time \ taken}

Distance =  Speed × Time

⇒Distance = 54 × \frac{1}{15} = 3.6km

So, distance covered by train = length of the tunnel

length of the tunnel = 3.6km

Final answer:

Henec, 3.6km is the length of the tunnel.
