Let the distance travelled be d and original speed of train be x km/hr.

New speed = 2x/5 km/hr

Distance = d

Time taken = d/t

=> 15 = d/(2x/5)

=> 15 = 5d/2x

=> x = 5d/(2*15)

.•. x = d/6

Time taken by train while running in its original speed = d/x = d/(d/6) = 6 hours
