Speed of train = 108 km/hr = 108 × 5/18 = 30 m/sec.

∵ Time taken to cross platform = Sum of lengths of train and platform/Speed of train

⇒ 11 = (x + 170)/30

⇒ x = 330 – 170 = 160

∴ Time taken to cross a 110 m long platform = (160 + 110)/30 = 270/30 = 9 sec
