Speed of the train = 72 kmph = 20 m/sec

While crossing the platform the train travels a distance equal to the length of the platform and its own length.

Distance traveled by the train in 20 sec. = 400m

Length of the platform = 200 m

So, the length of the train = 400 - 200 = 200m

While crossing a stationary train of 400m (twice the length of platform) the train travels a distance of 600m.
