How long did it take in total?

Distance divided by time is speed.

(By the way, never use that phrase “rate of speed”. Not only is it wrong, it's actually an abbreviated term for the acceleration, but it also shows how uneducated you are)

So here you have travelled:

9 km + 12 km + 3 km = 24 km

You have taken

15 + 10 + 5 = 30 minutes

So your average speed is 48 km in 60 minutes, or 58 kph
