A train runs at a speed of 80km/hr. If the length of the train is 400 m, how long will it take for it to cross an 400m bridge?

Answer: 36s

Explanation:

let the time taken be x s

distance the train need to travel = length of bridge and length of train

= 400m + 400m

= 800m

changing speed into m/s,

= 80 km / h

= 80000 m / 3600 s

= 800 m / 36 s

= 22.23 m/s

putting in the equation,

time = distance / speed

x s = 800 m / 22.23 m/s

x = 36 s
