The train completed its to and fro journey and is now at Delhi after 52 hours.

But 3 days have 72 hours which is not possible because the train took only 52 hours. But 52 hours is 4 hours more than 2 days, i.e., on adding 4 hours with 48 hours (which is 2 days), we get 52 hours. Hence, the train completes its journey in 2 days and 4 hours.

The train started on May 16. So, after 2 days and 4 hours means it reaches back Delhi on May 19. It is not on May 18 because the train completes 2 days of journey and enters the third day for 4 hours more to reach Delhi.

The train will reach Delhi back by 1 AM because 48 hours after 9PM will be the exact time, i.e., 9PM. Then 4 hours after 9PM is obtained by adding 4 hours to 9PM which will result in 1 AM, that is the next day has started.
