A train slows down from 40ms-1 to 10ms-1 in 60 seconds, how far does it travel in that time?The diagram below shows two water reservoirs connected to each other. Reservoir A is on the ground and holds 2x105m3 of water. Reservoir B holds 2.0 m3 of water and is located 5m above the ground.

given:- u=40m/s

v=10m/s

t= 60 sec

From the equation

v²– u² = 2as

First of all we need to find a

a= v–u/t

a=10–40/60

a=–30/60

a=–1/2

v²– u²=2as

10²–40²=2×–1/2×s

100–1600= –s

–1500=–s

s=1500 m
