A train staring from rest
accelerates uniformly and
attains a velocity 48 kmhin
2 minutes travels at this
speed for 5 minutes. Finally
moves with uniform retardation
and is stopped after 3 minutes

Answer:
first convert 48km/h to m/s =48*1000/3600=13.33m/s and 2 min to seconds and 5 minutes to seconds so 2min=120 seconds and 5 min=300 seconds 3mins=180secs
First find the distance of the first part of the journey so d=s*t=13.33*120=1599.6~1600m
Then find the distance of the second part of the journey d=13.33*300=3999~4000m
Finally find the distance of the third part of the journey so d=13.33*180=2399~2400m
so add all of these distances so 1600+4000+2400=total distance
so is the total distance=8000metres
hope it helps
