u=0m/s

v=40km/h=40*5/18=11.1m/s

t=10min*60=600sec

a=v-u/t

=11.1-0/600=0.0185m/s2

therefore acceleration =0,0185m/s2

Given:-

  • Initial velocity of Train (u) = 0m/s
  • Final velocity (v) = 40 km/h
  • Time (t) = 10 min

To Find :-

  • What is the acceleration of train ???

Solution :-

Firstly we can convert km/hr into m/s

⇒ 1 km/hr = 5/18

⇒ v = 11.11 m/s

Now, we can convert min into sec.

⇒ 1 min = 60 sec

⇒ 60×10 = 600 sec

⇒ t = 600 sec

By using first equation of motion

  • v = u + at

where,

Initial velocity = " u "

Final velocity = " v "

Time = " t "

acceleration = " a "

Now, putting the values in the above formula , we get

⇒ 11.1 = 0 + a × 600s

⇒ 11.1 = a × 600

⇒ a = 111/6000

⇒ a = 0.0185 m/s²

therefore,

The acceleration of the train is 0.0185 m/s².
