a train starting from rest accelerates uniformly and attains a velocity of 48 km -1 in two minutes it travels at the speed for 5 minutes finally it moves with uniform retardation and stopped after 3 minutes find the total distance travelled by the train ​

first convert 48km/h to m/s =48*1000/3600=13.33m/s and 2 min to seconds and 5 minutes to seconds so 2min=120 seconds and 5 min=300 seconds 3mins=180secs

First find the distance of the first part of the journey so d=s*t=13.33*120=1599.6~1600m

Then find the distance of the second part of the journey d=13.33*300=3999~4000m

Finally find the distance of the third part of the journey so d=13.33*180=2399~2400m

so add all of these distances so 1600+4000+2400=total distance

so is the total distance=8000metres
