Given :

Velocity of train = 72 km/hr

                          = 72 × 5 / 18 m/s

                          = 4 × 5 m/s

                          = 20 m/s

Acceleration = velocity / time

Time = 5 min

        = 5 × 60 s

        = 300 s

Acceleration = 20 m/s / 300 s

                     = 1/15 m/s²

                     = 0.0666 m/s²

ANSWER:

The acceleration is 0.067 m/s²

Distance traveled

Velocity = 20 m/s

So in 1 s , the train travels 20 m

In 5 min , the train will travel 20 m × 5 × 60

= 100 × 60 m

= 6000 m

ANSWER:

The distance traveled is 6000 m.
