Given :

  • Initial Velocity = 0 m/s
  • Final Velocity = 72 km/hr
  • Time Taken = 5 min.

To Find :

  • Acceleration and Distance travelled by the train .

Solution :

\longmapsto\tt{Final\:Velocity(v)=70km/h=20m/s}

\longmapsto\tt{Time\:Taken(t)=5\:min=300\:sec}

Using 1st Equation :

\longmapsto\tt\boxed{v=u+at}

Putting Values :

\longmapsto\tt{20=0+a\times{300}}

\longmapsto\tt{20=0+300a}

\longmapsto\tt{20=300a}

\longmapsto\tt{a=\cancel\dfrac{20}{300}}

\longmapsto\tt\bf{a=0.06{m/s}^{2}}

So , The Acceleration is 0.06 m/s² ...

Now ,

For Distance :

Using 2nd Equation :

\longmapsto\tt\boxed{s=ut+\dfrac{1}{2}{at}^{2}}

Putting Values :

\longmapsto\tt{0\times{300}+\dfrac{1}{{\cancel{2}}}\times{0.06}\times{{\cancel{300}}}\times{300}}

\longmapsto\tt{0.06\times{150}\times{300}}

\longmapsto\tt\bf{2700\:m}

So , The Distance Travelled is 2700 m...
