a train starting from rest attains a velocity of 72km/hr in 5 minute. Assuming that the acceleration is uniform find
1. The accelaration
2. The distance travelled by the train for attaining this velocity

1. The units have to be in standard form.

72 km = 72000m

5 min = 60×5 = 300 sec

Acceleration = Change in velocity/ Time

= 72000/300

= 240 m/s^2

2. Velocity = Distance(with direction)/Time

V = d/t

72000 = d/300

72000 × 300 = d

d = 21600000m

d = 21600km
