Question :

A train starting from rest moves with a uniform acceleration of 0.2 metre per second for 5 minutes calculate the speed acquired and the distance travelled in this time.

Answer :

Acceleration, a = 0.2 m/s

Time, t = 5 min

5 ✖ 60 = 300 sec

initial velocity, u = 0

final velocity, v = ?

v = u + at

v = 0 + 0.2 ✖ 300

v = 60 m/s

Now,

s = ut \:  +  \frac{1}{2} at {}^{2}  \\ s = 0 \times 300 +  \frac{1}{2}  \times 0.2 \times 300 {}^{2}  \\

9000 m

Hope it is helpful
