A train starts form Delhi at 8:00 am. After 6 hrs there was breakdown in the train, due to which it travels 2/3 of its normal speed and hence becomes 40 minutes late. If the breakdown would be 200km further then it will 30 minute late only. Find the distance from delhi to agra?

Let,
initial speed be 3v,
after breakdown speed be 2v,
distance to be covered after breakdown be x km.
Now if we actually see the question, the difference betn 40 mins & 30 mins late = 10 mins..happens because the train travels at the speed of 2v for 200 kms.
=> 200/2v - 200/3v = 10/60
Solving this, we get v = 200 km/hr
Also, the train was 40 mins late because it travelled the x km @ 2v instead of 3v.
=> x/2v - x/3v = 40/60
Solving this, we get x = 800 km.
Now the train had also travelled @ a speed of 3v initially for 6 hrs.
So, 3*200*6= 3600 km
=> Distance betn Delhi to Agra is 3600+800= 4400 kms.
