A train starts from rest and accelerates with 2 m/s2

for 5 sc and then decelerates with 4m/s2

for 2

sc in same direction. Calculate the total displacement covered by the body.​

Explanation:

firstly find the distance in case of accerlation

s = 0 + 1/2 × 2 × 5×5

s = 25m

v = 0 + 2 × 5

v = 10m/s

now in case 2 the final velocity of case will become the initial velocity of the case 2

so  u = 10m/s

and s = 10 × 2 - 1/2 × 4 ×2×2

s = 12 m

so total distance is 25m + 12 m

         = 37m
