A train starts from rest with an acceleration of 2 mls^2. A man who is 9m behind the train runs with uniform speed and just manages to get into the train in 10s . Calculate speed of man ?

u= initial velocity of train = 0

Acceleration of train = 2m/s^2

t= 10 seconds

Final velocity = v =u+at

V=0+2×10

V=20 m/s

Displacement of train = s

S= 0×10+1/2×2×10×10

S=100m

Man is nine metre away, so he needs to cover 109 m in 10 seconds to catch the train

So speed = 109/10 = 10.9m/s
