first work our distance of first train then calculate the speed of the second to travel that distance in its shorter time

so first train starts at 1pm and gets overtaken at 9pm so 8 hours of travel time at 18km/h.

so 18km/h x 8 hours = 144 km

but train 2 starts 2 hours later so

? Km/h x 6 hours = 144 km

speed = 144/6 = 24 km/h

so train 2 travels at 24km/h to overtake train 1 in six hours
