Given That :

  • ➻ Initial Velocity of Train (u) = 0m/s
  • ➻ Final Velocity of Train (v) = 25m/s
  • ➻ Time Taken by Train (T) = 5 Min

Need To Find :

  • ➮ The acceleration of Train ?

Formula Used Here :

  • a = v - u / t

Where :

  • a = Acceleration
  • v = Final Velocity
  • u = Initial Velocity
  • t = Time

____________________

Conversion Needed :

Time taken by train 5 min into seconds :

  • ⇢ Time = 5 × 1min
  • ⇢ Time = 5 × 60 s
  • ⇢ Time = 300s

Putting Values in Formula :

  • ➟ a = v - u / t
  • ➟ a = ( 25 - 0 ) / 300s
  • ➟ a = 25 / 300
  • a = 0.0833m/s² [ Approximately ]

Therefore :

» Acceleration of Train will be 0.0833 m/s²

Information given to us:

  • A train starts to move from rest
  • After 5 minutes, its velocity becomes 25m/s

What we have to calculate:

  • Acceleration caused?

Formula used:

  • Acceleration = Final velocity - Intial velocity / Time

Converting minutes into seconds:

  • As we have 5 minutes inorder to convert it into it into seconds we have to multiply 5 with 60 because one minute contains 60 seconds.

=> T = 5 × 60

=> T = 300 seconds

Evaluating the values in the given formula of calculating the acceleration:

Here we have,

  • v is 25 m/s
  • T is 300s
  • u is 0

Lets solve it now!

=> a = 25 - 0 / 300

  • On substracting 25 with 0 we gets 25,

=> a = 25 / 300

  • Dividing 25 by 300,

=> a = 5 / 60

  • Dividing 5 by 60,

=> a = 1 / 12

  • Now we gets,

=> a = 0.083333

Conclusion:

  • Acceleration is of 0.083333 m/s²
