well, the final velocity given is 36km/hr

In SI unit the velocity (v) = 36*1000/3600 m/s

hence, v = 10m/s

Now, time (t) = 10min = 600 second

We know acceleration =change in velocity/time

as initial velocity is 0. u=0

and hence, a = v/t

a = 10/600

a = 0.01667 m/s square

Given:-

  • Initial velocity of train, u = 0
  • Final velocity of train v = 36 km/h.
  • Time taken, t = 10 minutes

To Find:-

  • What is the acceleration of train ?

Solution:

  • Firstly we have to change the final velocity from km/h to m/s and also time to seconds. To change km/h to m/s multiply by 5/18. We are given :-

  • Final velocity, v = 36 × (5/18) = 10 m/s.

(1 minutes = 60 seconds)

  • Now we know first equation of motion is given by :-
  • v = u + at

Substituting the values :-

⇢10 = 0 + a × 600

⇢10 = 600a

⇢a = 10/600

⇢a = 0.0166 m/s²

  • Hence, the acceleration of train is 0.0166 m/s².
