A train takes 3 hours to reach from station
A to station B. and then 5 hours to return
from station B to station A. The distance between
the 2 stations is 400 km calculate the
average speed of the train.

Answer:

Total distance travelled by train to reaching and returning = 400 + 400 = 800 km

Total time taken by train to reaching and returning = 3 + 5 = 8 hour

Average speed = Total distance / Total time => 800/8 = 100 km/h
