a train takes 40 minutes for a journey if it runs at 0.05 kilometre per second the rate at which the train must run to reduce the time to 28 minutes will be nearly​

Initially :

The train speed = 0.05 km/s

time = 40min = 40 * 60 = 2400 sec

Hence the distance travel by train

D=speed * time

D=0.05 * 2400 = 120 km

When time is reduced :

Distance will remain unchanged

D=120 km

t=28 min = 28 * 60 =1680 Sec....

Hence

Speed = D/t

S=120 / 1680 = 0.0714 km/sec
