A train takes three hours to reach from station A to station B and then five hours from station B to station A. The distance between the two stations is 400 km. Calculate the average speed of the train.

Answer:

Average speed = Total distance/Total Time

Total distance = 400+400 = 800km

Total time = 3+5 = 8 hours .

so,

Average speed = 800/8 = 100km/h .

[ if you want you can solve it by = 2*s1*s2/(s1+s2) , answer will be same in both case ]
