Given,

  • Speed (s1) = 50km/h
  • Speed (s2)= 40km/h
  • Speed (s3) = 60km/h
  • Time = t1 = 30 min
  • t2 =15min
  • t3 = 60 min.

To Find:-

  • Average speed of the train.

Formula used:-

Average speed = distance /time

Calculations:-

Distance (d1) = S1 / t1

 \frac{50}{30}

=1.6km

Distance (d2) = s2/t2

 \frac{40}{15}

=2.6km

Distance (d3) = s3/t3

 \frac{60}{60}

=1km

Average speed of the

train = Total distance /Total time

Total distance:-

d1 + d2 + d3

=1.6+2.6+1

= 5.2 km

Total time:-

t1+t2+t3

=30+15+60

=105

Now,

 \frac{5.2}{105}

= 1.02km/hr
