A train travelled from Delhi to Agra and back in a certain time at the rate of 40 kmph. But if the train had travelled from Delhi to Agra at a rate of 80kmph and back to Delhi at a rate of 40kmph. It would takes 1h longer. Find the distance between Delhi and Agra ?

Answer:

let the distance travalled be x

then (x/80+x/60)-2x/60=2 hour

so by solving x=480 km8 years agoHelpfull: Yes(20) No(3)let distance=x

2x/60-(x/80+x/40)

=240 for going

480/60=8hr

up and down so 16hr

480/80=6hr for up

If Distance between Delhi and Patna= x km. then

Round trip time taken with speed of 60 kmph= 2x/60

Time taken when travelled from Delhi to Patna @80 kmph and back from Patna to Delhi @40 kmph=(x/80)+(x/40)

As later time is 2 hours more than previous, so (2x/60) +2 =(x/80) + (x/40)

On solving x=480
