The length of the train = the distance covered train in the given time at the given speed.

Speed = 100 kmph

Time = 10 seconds

= 10/(60×60) hours

= 1/360 hours

Distance = speed × time

= 100/360 km

= (10/36)×1000 m

= 278 m approximately

You can also find it by converting speed into mps

1 mps = 3.6 or 18/5 kmph
