A train travelling at a uniform speed for 360km would have taken 48minutes less to travel the same distance if its speed were 5km/hour more. Find thr original speed of the train.

let the original speed be 'x' km/h
total distance=360km
time taken= distance ÷ speed
so, time=360÷x ----------1
now time taken is 48÷60 hours less
increase in speed= X+5 km/ h
time taken= 360÷x+5----------2
from 1and2
360÷x - 360÷ X+5=48÷60
on simplying we get
(1800)5=4(x^2+5x)
x^2+5x-2250=0
X=45km/h
