A train travelling at a uniform speed of 78 km/hr was approaching a signal post. An eagle was perched on the engine of the train.
When the train was 5200 m away from the signal post, the eagle started flying straight towards the signal post. As soon as it reached the signal post, it flew straight back to the train. And when it reached the engine, it flew straight towards the signal post.
It continued flying back and forth until the train reached the signal post.If the average speed of the eagle was 30 m/s, what was the distance (in metres) travelled by the eagle?

- Distance between train and signal post is 5200m
- The uniform speed of train is 78 km/h
- The uniform speed of eagle is 30m/s
- The speed of train in meter and minute is 78×1000÷60 = 1300m/min
- The speed of eagle in mrter and minute is 30×1000×60 = 1800000 m/min
- The train reach the signal post in 4 min
- The eagle covered distance is 1800000×4= 7200000m(72km)
