A train travels 4 km due east and then 3 km due north
and finally comes back to the starting position
travelling 5 km along south-west direction. What is the
net displacement:

I think it is 12 because in east 4 in north 3 so 3 +4 =7 and back to its place so 5 km morethen 7+5 =12

ANSWER : C) ZERO

It is because after travelling 5km towards South-West Direction, he actually came back to the position from where he started. So, the Final Position coincides with the Initial Position.

Hence, the net displacement or the total displacement is zero.
