Explanation:

60 km in 1 hour

1 km in 1 minute

333.3 m in 20 sec

+

30km in 1 hour

500m in 1 minute

125m in 15 seconds

total=333.3+125= 458.3m

ANSWER:

Speed of train in first case:

60 km/h

Converting it into m/s, we get

60 × 5/18 = 16.666..... = 17 m/s (approx.)

Time Taken by train in first case:

20 sec

Distance = Speed × Time

Distance = 17 × 20 = 340 m

Speed of train in second case:

30 km/h

Converting it into m/s, we get

30 × 5/18 = 8.333...... = 8 m/s (approx.)

Time Taken by train in second case:

15 sec

Distance = Speed × Time

Distance = 8 × 15

Distance = 120 m

Total Distance = Distance covered by train in first case + Distance covered by train in second case

Total Distance = 340 + 120 = 460 m
