AnswEr :

☑ Given :

• A train travels a distance of 1000 km in \large\tt{15\frac{1}{2}} hr and 30 minutes.

☑ To Find :

• Find the Speed of Train.

☑ Solution :

First of all Change the Time in Hour.

» \large\tt{15\frac{1}{2}} hr + 30 minutes

» \large\tt{\frac{31}{2}} hr + \large\tt{\frac{30}{60}} hr

» \large\tt{\frac{31}{2}} hr + \large\tt{\frac{1}{2}} hr

» \large\tt{\frac{(31+1)}{2}} hr

» \large\tt{\cancel\frac{32}{2}} hr

» 16 hr.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

As We Know the Formula ;

  \large\boxed {\bold{Distance = Speed  \times  Time}}

Plugging in the Values !

\longrightarrow \large \bold{1000 = Speed \times 16} \:

\longrightarrow \large \bold{Speed =   \cancel\frac{1000}{16} } \:

 \scriptsize \blacksquare \:   \underline{\mathfrak{dividing \: both \: terms \: by \: 8}}

\longrightarrow \large \bold{Speed =  \frac{125}{2} \: Km/hr } \:

\longrightarrow \large  \boxed{\bold{Speed = 62.5 \: Km/hr}}

 \large\therefore Speed of Train is 62.5 km/hr

  • Time Taken = 15 whole 1/2 hr and 30 min.
  • Speed = ?

Time Taken

➞ 15 whole 1/2 hr + 30 minute

➞ 31/2 hr + 30/60 hr

➞ 31/2 hr + 1/2 hr

➞ 32/2 hr

➞ 16 hr.

__________________________________

➡ Distance = Speed × Time

➡ 1000 = Speed × 16

➡ Speed = 1000/16

➡ Speed = 125/2

➡ Speed = 62.5 km/hr
